This was a super fun assignment. Duke Medical Magazine contacted me to do a cartoon for their regular column called "Controversies in Medicine". This particular article was about direct-to-consumer genetic testing... meaning everyday joes (and janes) can get their DNA tested to give them a prediction of what they might experience in their future health (high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke etc). It's a touchy subject: test interpretation can be a little subjective, people might react in negative ways when knowing what they're in for, etc.
I wouldn't want to do it. Would you?
