home again, home again, jiggity jig

In the last few weeks we have finally made the decision to sell this house and move back to Indianapolis. This has been an extremely hard decision (mainly because I really wanted to move back south… but it's not in the cards right now… sniff). So now that I've backed off of my hopes and dreams (hee hee. sorry Col. I had to say it.) I think we're making a good call. There are always positives and negatives to any location, or any big decision for that matter… but we feel that the good outweighs the bad in this choice to move again. I won't bore you with all the reasons. There are many.

But I will say that I'm pretty excited now that it's been settled. So lately I've been occupied with getting the house ready to sell. Lots and lots of purging (my favorite thing in the world!) -- helloooo Goodwill! Lots of things going up for sale at the local consignment store. Lots of wall painting and tending to neglected projects. And lots of cleaning. This is a pretty exhausting task with a one year old undoing everything I've done. She is a hurricane and the house is usually a wreck.

I just wanted to tell you all what's been going on in our little world and let you know what's in store for us Dullaghans. Please wish us luck that this house (this really weird, historic home we live in now) will sell quickly and painlessly. Some friends of ours recently got some bad news about their house and it made me really nervous that this is a huge uphill battle in this real estate market. But it only takes one... one buyer to fall in love with this house. I just hope we meet them soon! :)

Fingers crossed!
