Lately I've been obsessed with little DIY projects. Especially when they end up being good cost savers. My local friends have been passing around a homemade laundry soap recipe and I thought I'd share it here. Here's what you need:
Arm & Hammer All Natural Washing Soda - $3.09
Borax All Natural Laundry Booster - $4.18
Pure Baking Soda - $1.73 (I bought a big box because I clean everything with this.)
Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soap made with organic oils - $4.19 (I got the peppermint scent.)
A standard grater to finely grate the bar of soap.
Here's my little recipe card:
And the final product:
This was really easy to make, smelled great and cost $13.19 for everything (with tons to spare for future batches). This ends up being so much cheaper than the standard store-bought laundry soap. With an added bonus of no plastic packaging. Yay! I tested it on 8 loads of laundry and it got everything really clean with no residue... from jeans to delicate baby shirts. Love it.
