Freed Om

lettinggoisfreedom.jpg The month of May ended up being more than just a simple blog break for me. It was like a super-charged healing and centering month. Part of it was due to a 5 week healing yoga class that was nothing short of amazing for me. I'll get into more specifics later, but I just had to share this today...

Last week I was writing in my journal, just my usual brain dump and getting it all out on paper. And suddenly I felt compelled to write, really big: LETTING GO IS FREEDOM. I wrote it so big on the page that the letters of "freedom" broke into FREED OM. And I stared down at the page and read what I wrote -- Letting Go is Freed Om.

Talk about a clear message.

I had been hanging on and clinging to so much lately (worry, fear, anxiety, monkey mind), and this was like a smack in the forehead. -- Hey Lope! Letting it go means freeing your spirit/god/universe/om and getting out of the way. It means connecting with something bigger than yourself and trusting in that instead of being closed off from it. Letting every outcome be what it is and trusting that it fits into a bigger picture that we are too close to see.

Oh baby, I needed that. I felt a relaxing sigh flow through me...

Last night was the final healing yoga session, and our instructor brought up the concept of letting go (I'm not kidding!). Releasing our tight grasps and flowing instead. And I had chills because I had made little cards for everyone with "Letting Go is Freed Om" written on them. I raised my hand and said I just had to share this right now... I stood up and gave everyone a card and watched as smiles spread across the room. We all laughed about this little discovery of "Freed Om" and talked about what it meant for us in our own situations. It was divine...

So I thought it would be fun to offer a pdf sheet that we could print out, cut up into little pocket-sized squares, and put in our wallets, on our bathroom mirrors, in our cars, taped to our foreheads. Reminders to let it go (whatever it is) and be free. We could even print them out and bravely leave them in public places for other people to discover. Who knows, maybe it'll fall into the hands of someone who needs it. Or maybe they'll just think we're all nutso in the cabutso... Wouldn't be the first time. :)
